Soplar Domestic Hot Water (SDHW)

A solar hot water panel is a solar water heater that uses the sun's energy to heat the hot water you use in your home. The solar collectors, which are normally placed on the roof, do not need the outside temperature to be high, they only need sunlight for them to be able to heat up and can still operate on a relatively cloudy day.

Direct sunlight is the best situation for fulfilling all of your needs which makes Portugal an ideal location for solar domestic hot water as we receive high levels of direct sunlight year round.

To compensate for periods where the panels may not receive enough energy to heat your water up to a high temperature, systems are often linked with a back up heater often being a regular gas boiler or a back boiler linked to a multi-fuel stove.

Under special conditions it would be even possible to support your central heating by use of solar panels, namely when you have under floor heating or wall heating in mind.
